Logistics Associate
Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, this role handles all distribution operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing of construction supply materials, and dispatching delivery trucks for material delivery.
Responsibilities
Provides general assistance, including pulling and staging orders.
Performs bin location maintenance.
Maintains a safe, organized, and clean warehouse environment.
Assists with cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy.
Attends safety training and meetings; follows all rules and regulations.
Performs forklift inspections, completes reports, and operates forklifts.
Communicates consistently with management and branch personnel.
Verifies inventory against purchase orders for accuracy.
Receives inventory into the NEFCO ERP software system.
Stages and shelves inventory.
Uses RF technology to pick orders and verifies items.
Sends picked orders to the packing department.
Packs goods following NEFCO processes and procedures.
Loads trucks with packed orders in a specified sequence.
Works Monday through Friday, typically 40 hours; overtime available as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience or ability to use NEFCO’s ERP software system.
Knowledge of warehouse layouts for planning purposes.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
Positive, hard‑working attitude.
Ability to multitask and communicate effectively.
Ability to stand on a concrete floor for long periods of time.
Ability to work in various climate conditions (cold, heat, humidity).
Ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl, and twist for lifting.
Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs.
Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment (including forklifts) and remain recertified.
Detail‑oriented with a “roll up the sleeves” attitude for a fast‑paced environment.
Non‑exempt position eligible for overtime.
Location: Washington, DC Salary Range: $51,000.00 – $82,000.00
