Description
The Inventory Assistant supports inventory, production planning, and supply chain operations. This role is hands‑on, involving material handling, inventory movement, and coordination of purchasing, logistics, and supplier activities to ensure accurate and timely availability of starter materials and plants.
Key Responsibilities Warehouse & Inventory Operations
Work primarily in a warehouse setting supporting daily inventory operations.
Receive, move, stage, and organize starter materials and plants within the warehouse.
Perform lot maintenance and assist with resource requirement changes to maintain inventory accuracy.
Support physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and material tracking.
Production & Sourcing Support
Assist with production planning activities related to inventory availability.
Support management of sourced plant programs for production and garden needs.
Issue POS for starter materials, planned contract plants, and ad‑hoc garden purchases.
Purchasing & Purchase Orders
Assign, track, and manage purchase orders.
Process freight POs for inbound and outbound shipments.
Maintain and update price lists for suppliers.
Supplier & Logistics Coordination
Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, availability, pricing, and delivery schedules.
Coordinate logistics with Miami for imported starter materials.
Arrange and track local supplier pickups and warehouse deliveries.
Receiving & Issue Resolution
Receive materials and verify quantities and lot accuracy.
Handle invoice discrepancies and resolve receiving issues in coordination with suppliers and internal teams.
Work Environment Requirements
Role is
primarily warehouse‑based
with frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Requires regular movement of inventory using carts, pallet jacks, or similar equipment.
May involve exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and typical warehouse conditions.
Requirements Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1–3 years of experience in inventory, warehouse, or supply chain support preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a warehouse team.
Basic computer skills and experience with ERP or inventory systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in agricultural, horticultural, or plant‑based warehouse environments.
Experience handling imported materials and freight coordination.
