The
Forklift Operator II
is responsible for operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack and count merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and may also perform order filler or order checker duties. This position requires operating multiple types of forklift equipment within a rack warehouse environment, including sit‑down/stand‑up, clamp, cherry and reach equipment. Forklift certification on at least three pieces of equipment is required. The scope of work is expected to involve fifty percent or more of time operating these types of equipment.
Responsibilities
Stacks and stores merchandise in designated areas using sit‑down/stand‑up, clamp, cherry and/or reach equipment (50% of service time).
Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to storage locations.
Pulls and prepares products for shipment.
Ensures that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
Performs picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
Moves product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers.
Operates all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
Maintains appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security.
Assists in physical inventories.
Ensures proper stock rotation.
Conducts cycle counts as requested.
Must have Excel knowledge plus general computer proficiency.
Basic safety understanding in operating equipment.
Responsible for reporting safety concerns to management promptly.
Reports inventory discrepancies to the inventory control team and assists in resolution.
Must complete inspection form prior to operating equipment.
Must use RF scanning equipment to ensure inventory accuracy.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED preferred.
At least 1 year forklift experience and/or use of warehouse distribution equipment.
Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10‑12 hours.
Must be able to lift and/or pull 50 lbs. without restriction.
Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching below the waist and above the head.
Walking in the DC and around area frequently; facility over a quarter mile in length.
Ability to work in environments with variable noise, lighting, and temperature; able to access all areas without limitations.
Availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Must pay attention to detail, provide excellent customer service, and possess basic math skills.
Compensation and Benefits The base hourly rate for this position is
$20.75 per hour , which may be adjusted based on qualifications, experience, education and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for an additional
$X per hour
for shift work.
