Maintenance Technician - 12 Hour Shift Nights

Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.
Replace or repair parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, switches, and other electrical parts and equipment.
Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts and examine their form and texture to detect imperfections.
Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, repair or replace defective parts, and install special functional and structural parts in devices.
Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines, lubricate, and clean parts; start devices to test performance.
Participate in on‑call program and may be required to work additional hours as required.
Follow all safety rules and procedures and observe operations to ensure a safe environment.
Requirements
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); plus one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Full and complete understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, and PLC troubleshooting.
Prefer Electrician's License, but not mandatory.
Job Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Set up machines, troubleshoot equipment failures, and perform repair and preventive maintenance services, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
Strong PLC troubleshooting capability and ability to read and program code.
Good working knowledge of all aspects of electrical controls, mechanical assembly, plumbing, and HVAC-related control systems.
Read and interpret electrical control and mechanical assembly drawings, as well as service manuals for all equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair both electrical and mechanical problems associated with production and facility equipment in a timely manner.
Be able to work to repair equipment back to service during emergency breakdowns.
Competencies
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
Physical Demands
Be able to work 12‑hour shifts, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. or 8 p.m.–8 a.m., rotating: 36 hours one week, 48 hours the next. Ability to work overtime when needed.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is medium to loud.
