Overview Position available to work every other weekend/alternating weekend in a residential setting for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) in Mecklenburg County. Staff provides the training and support needed to help individuals learn how to care for themselves in areas such as cooking, housekeeping, using leisure time, and routine health care.
Requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Positive outlook.
Friendly and caring demeanor.
Willingness to learn and grow.
Experience helping people with disabilities.
Valid Driver's License.
High School Diploma.

$16.00 per hour
Schedule:
Friday Evening Shift Start @ 6:00pm thru Sunday Evening 6:30pm. Overnight sleep stays at the residential home are required Friday and Saturday nights. This is an every other weekend position.
What You'll Do
Teach meal planning and cooking.
Instruct and assist with household cleaning, personal care & hygiene.
Provide community recreational activities when available.
Provide and participate in in-home leisure activities.
Document weekend activities.
Help residents develop healthy social habits.
Dispense medication and monitor dosages.
Be willing to drive a full-size passenger van.

All InReach applicants are required to have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and successfully pass a drug screen and background check. The applicant must be at least 21 years old and have six months' direct experience working with individuals with disabilities (paid or volunteer) preferred. In lieu of experience with disabilities, other relevant experience may be considered with additional on-the-job training. All experience must be verifiable.
