Exterior Services Technician, DOT Operator – Walmart
Position located at Walmart; join us to keep our landscapes attractive, clean, and well maintained. This role involves mowing, trimming, pruning, grounds maintenance, and operating a combination truck and trailer for exterior cleaning and maintenance. The work is performed outdoors in varied weather conditions. Candidates who are physically fit and enjoy meticulous outdoor work are encouraged to apply.
Base Pay Range $19.00/hr – $35.00/hr (actual rate dependent on skills, experience, and benefits).
Responsibilities
Mowing, trimming, and pruning year‑round landscaping.
Perform grounds maintenance on parking lots, exterior building areas, and surrounding ground areas to provide a clean environment.
Work as part of a team of associates responsible for all aspects of landscaping and exterior cleaning/ground maintenance.
Adhere to the highest standards of safety, security, and integrity, ensuring compliance with corporate policies as well as local, federal, and state requirements.
Travel may be necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in landscaping, agriculture, general maintenance, or retail.
Strong customer service orientation with clear, respectful communication.
Personal accountability and effective time management to meet commitments.
Adaptability to changing demands with solid judgment in prioritization.
Servant leadership mindset and capability to work in a team.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 21 years of age.
Valid state‑issued driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record; ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
Successful completion and passing of a driver’s road test for the combination truck and trailer that will be operated.
Ability to obtain any required licensing and/or endorsements for operating a state‑required vehicle.
Strong communication skills in person and via telecommunications equipment.
Ability to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification with a minimum 90‑day card.
Proficiency in reading and speaking English.
Physical Activity
Visually verifies and inspects equipment and personnel.
Reads and interprets information in small print.
Creates documents and reports using writing instruments or electronic devices.
Operates combination motor vehicle of 10,000–26,000 lbs, requiring valid license or certification.
Advances safety compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Other tasks may include physical lifting and manual tasks as required.
