Material Handler - First Shift

Amerhart, an SBPBrand, is currently hiring Material Handlers to join our Kansas City Operations team. This role involves shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. You will be part of the Operations team and should help others as well, working in a safe environment.
Shift & Pay • 1st Shift hours are from 7:30am CST until work is finished for the day. • Hourly Pay rate is $22.00/hour + full‑time benefits.
Responsibilities
Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars and replenish product in the designated location in the warehouse.
Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled.
Report any problems such as shortages or damaged material.
Inquire with a sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed by sales.
Use a handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
Collaborate with the WMS Coordinator on questions and updates.
Band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping.
Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.
Miscellaneous Functions
Fill orders for incoming customers.
Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
Inspect the forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Cross‑train and back‑up others in warehouse.
Personal Attributes and Skills
Strong initiative, self‑starter with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a cross‑functional team environment.
Working knowledge and techniques associated with organizing and setting priorities.
Qualifications
High School Diploma.
1–2 years warehouse experience required; some experience in a distributorship preferred.
Neat and clean appearance.
Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
