Hourly Competitive Starting Pay - $20.35/hr

$0.50/hour shift differential for 2nd shift position.

Responsibilities

Responsible for safe operation of packaging production line(s) to deliver a product that meets the customers’ expectations.

Follows Safety and Quality Assurance rules and procedures.

Sets packaging machine, stuffing equipment, injection equipment, and other various food manufacturing equipment to appropriate specifications as found in set guidelines or specification logs, and ensures production line has appropriate equipment, configuration, and materials such as x-ray machines, adequate conveyor adjustments, correct packaging film.

Inspects equipment for safety guards that are working and used by all employees.

Learn and use LTT for all equipment.

Sets up scales, checks weigher and metal detector correctly, and monitors their operation during shift.

Ensures daily production is run according to the sequence stated in the schedule.

Operates computer to produce labels or placards for each run.

Ensures lot numbers from packaging materials and blended products are recorded on the paperwork.

Ensures correct packaging materials are used for each product, in accordance with specifications, and replenishes materials as needed (i.e., roll of film, labels).

Ensures that all packaged product goes through the metal detector.

Performs net weight checks.

Performs packaging integrity checks and labeling checks.

Ensures appropriate pattern and count is followed by all Packers who palletize product.

Follow allergen control procedures.

Performs machine washdown between production change-overs and validates proper cleanliness by following specific changeover procedures.

Retools equipment during changeovers.

Train staff as backups.

Follows GMPs & Safety rules and policies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

1+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a field.

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general instructions.

Works under immediate supervision.

Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.

Typically reports to a supervisor/manager.

Work Environment

The work environment is medium noise level.

Production area may involve temperatures ranging from 35 – 90 degrees.

Personal Protective Equipment is required.

Regularly sit, use hands to finger, handle, grasp, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

The employee may be required to stand and walk; repeatedly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
