Electrical Apprentices assist Electricians in performing electrical tasks such as pulling cable, installing devices, repairing electrical equipment, and reading blueprints. This position requires enrollment in a 4‑year Department of Labor (DOL) Registered Apprenticeship Program. Some travel will be required. Pay depends on experience.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Works under direct supervision of a Journeyman Electrician and demonstrates safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment.
Assists with materials handling, installation of devices and equipment.
Identify and eliminate hazardous conditions at the job site.
Maintain the job site in a safe, neat, and orderly condition.
Handle and stage materials, equipment, and tools.
Assist with layout, wire pulls, and installation.
Might be required to operate heavy equipment.
Assist with cable tray installations, device installations, and lighting connections.
Receive On‑the‑Job Learning (OJL) as part of the apprenticeship program.
Attend class and make satisfactory progress with apprenticeship program completion.
Safely operate hand and power tools.
Possess the ability to read and interpret instructions, maps, and manuals.
Positive safety attitude and personal integrity.
Legally operate company vehicles and equipment.
Working Conditions
Job requires working in all elements (rain, snow, heat, etc.).
Must keep work tools with them at all times (work belt, bag, etc.).
Use all types of ladders including step ladders up to 14 ft, “A” Frame and all sizes of extension ladders and relocate a 12 ft ladder by one’s self.
Perform work at various heights, up to 90 ft from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and cat walks; be able to work in restricted areas.
Wear protective personal equipment (PPE).
