Job Description Summary Designs and erects various types of scaffolds. The Lead Carpenter mentors and coaches the Scaffold E&D Carpenters to aid in their development, and works closely with tools.
Responsibilities
Design and erect various types of scaffolds.
Manage a small crew to erect and dismantle scaffolding under the supervision of an E&D Foreman.
Mentor and coach Scaffold E&D Carpenters to support their professional development.
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA regulations.
Assess loading capacities and material suitability to avoid excessive loads.
Qualifications
Some trade school preferred but not required.
Minimum 2 years as a Scaffold E&D Carpenter or equivalent experience.
Ability to work comfortably and safely at considerable heights.
Bilingualism is a plus.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Expert knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations related to scaffolding.
Strong understanding of various scaffolding materials and their load limitations.
Ability to safely manage a crew and lead scaffold installation and dismantlement.
Proficiency in using a variety of scaffolding materials and tools.
Physical Demands The role requires frequent bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 40 pounds or more, and working both indoors and outdoors. The above description is not a complete listing of all duties and reasonable accommodations may be provided.
