Insurance Placement Assistant
– USI Insurance Services
General Description This role will have two primary responsibilities. The first will be to provide support to the Select Commercial Lines Producers by completing technical resource-related tasks required to secure new business. Additionally, the position will be responsible for assisting the Select Marketing Specialist with the marketing/placement of new business (small business) with partner insurance carriers.
Responsibilities
Assist the Regional Marketing Specialist to review, input, submit, and accurately document New Business Submissions in agency management systems.
Assist the Regional Marketing Specialist to quote online via carrier rating tools or submit to underwriter.
Complete Workers’ Compensation Experience Modification Analyses in Mod Master or other similar resource.
Complete Property Valuation Reports via Marshall and Swift or other similar resources.
Assist the Regional Marketing Specialist to complete marketing summary outlining terms, rates, commission, bind order documents, and carrier responses including reason for declination.
Required to perform essential functions; meeting service standards and best practices developed by USI.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Commercial Property & Casualty; a comprehensive understanding of all Property & Casualty insurance coverages, placement, underwriting and rating concepts.
Must hold state Property & Casualty insurance license.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal instruction, strong business acumen, and a high degree of frequency.
Sales driven and solution‑oriented to help meet production and growth goals.
Ability to solve problems and negotiate creatively and proactively.
Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate work.
Knowledge of agency management system, workflow procedures, underwriting, sales, and service processes.
Knowledge of insurance carrier systems for submission and quoting.
Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation Experience Modification Analysis Tools and Property Valuation Tools, not necessary but a plus.
Proficient in Word and Excel.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Maintain a cordial and effective relationship with production team, co‑workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts; ability to work in a team environment.
Effective interactions/communications with others; cooperating purposefully and providing information, guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of USI.
