Laundry Mechanic
Position Summary:
The Laundry Mechanic maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots industrial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, presses, conveyors), focusing on preventive maintenance to ensure efficiency, diagnosing mechanical/electrical faults, replacing parts, following safety protocols (lock‑out/tag‑out), and documenting work to minimize downtime and keep operations smooth. Essential Functions:
Inspect and maintain laundry equipment (washers, dryers, presses, steamers). Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operation. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in laundry machines. Repair or replace faulty parts such as belts, motors, valves, and bearings. Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper machine operation. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records for all equipment. Order and manage spare parts inventory as needed. Collaborate with laundry staff to minimize downtime and disruptions. Test equipment after repairs to confirm proper functionality. Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to keep operations running smoothly. All other duties as assigned. Experience / Qualifications:
Minimum Degree Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Minimum Years of Experience: 2–3 years in laundry equipment maintenance, industrial equipment maintenance, or related field. Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Understanding of commercial laundry equipment operation and maintenance. Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and schedules. Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Skill in mechanical troubleshooting and repair. Skill in electrical diagnostics and component replacement. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Strong record‑keeping and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle emergency repairs. Effective communication with staff and management. Capacity to follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment. Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and equipment quickly. Travel Requirements:

Regularly walks, stands, and lifts up to 50 lbs. Occasionally sits and does computer work. Independent Judgment:
Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems.
