Position Summary Correctly perform DOT & PM inspections on trailers. Repair or replace damaged or worn parts, including brakes, air system, electrical system and suspension components. Perform welding and fabrication repairs. Ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Determine necessary mechanical, electrical, or other areas that need repair to meet customers’ expectations.
Correctly perform DOT & PM inspections on trailers.
Understand foundation brake systems with ability to diagnose and repair.
Knowledge of air system operation with ability to diagnose and repair.
Welding and fabrication of steel and aluminum.
Repair electrical systems and wiring. Lighting, ABS, etc.
Assist customers on service calls.
Correctly complete all forms, timecards, parts requests, or any other documents associated with trailer repairs.
Represent Quality Truck Care Center in a professional manner, remaining friendly and courteous in all customer and coworker interactions.
Wear proper personal protective equipment to protect from injury.
Keeps work areas clean and free of clutter.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, CDL preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical requirements: self‑motivated, ability to talk and hear, ability to walk and go up/down one full flight of stairs, ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate tools, ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, push or pull, ability to see with close vision, ability to communicate with others verbally (telephone and in person) and in written communication methods, ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist and carry.
