Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)
Location: Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Saint Louis, MO
Schedule: Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (06:00 AM – 2:30 PM), Monday–Friday
Pay Range: $28 – $31 per hour
Responsibilities
The Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) provides essential support to the surgical services team by ensuring all surgical instruments, trays, and equipment are properly decontaminated, sterilized, assembled, and tracked.
Maintain aseptic standards as the first line of defense for patient safety and surgical efficiency.
Utilize CensiTrac instrument tracking systems (required) and work with washers/sterilizers (Belimed preferred) to process high-volume surgical trays.
Adhere to sterile processing protocols and collaborate with surgical staff to meet daily case demands.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience (Trauma Level I experience preferred).
Certification: CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA (required).
Technical Skills:
CensiTrac instrument tracking (required).
Belimed washers/sterilizers (preferred).
Knowledge of decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization procedures.
Familiarity with specialty surgical equipment (orthopedics, robotics, implants, etc.).
