Title Technician II, Electronics & Technology
Essential Functions Under general supervision, maintains grounds of school system facilities.
Other duties may be required and assigned.
Completes routine and sometimes more robust tasks assigned in a timely manner.
Repairs and replaces CB radios to ensure bus drivers can communicate with transportation.
Conducts repair and replacement of other communication devices as needed.
Maintains and repairs tables and other furniture within the buses.
Performs maintenance tasks to ensure the functionality of bus equipment, addressing routine issues promptly.
Anticipates maintenance needs and recommends process improvements for bus equipment functionality.
Follows established standard operating procedures and systems to accomplish tasks.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Associate degree or high school diploma with some additional continuing education through a certification program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities With 3–6 years of related experience required.
Competency in maintaining and repairing other school bus electronic equipment.
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the trade.
Understanding of relevant occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Knowledge of applicable state and federal safety codes and regulations.
Ability to solve problems within defined parameters and under clearly established processes.
Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to follow clearly established procedures.
Ability to work collaboratively and seek assistance when needed.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Constantly operates and inspects mechanical equipment.
Constantly positions self to use, inspect, clean or repair tools and machinery.
Constantly observes details at close range.
Frequently required to exchange accurate information.
Frequently remains in a stationary position.
Frequently moves tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across the facility.
Frequently operates a motor vehicle safely and legally, in accordance with applicable state and federal transportation laws.
Occasionally moves tools and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds across the manufacturing floor.
Occasionally ascends/descends machinery and equipment to repair/service.
Must have valid driver license and clean driving record.
Constantly exposed to loud noise levels.
Constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Occasionally exposed to mechanical oils, vibration and risk of electrical shock.
