Position Summary Can/Am is looking for a dedicated and thorough Sales Representative with at least five years of sales experience to drive revenue growth and expand our client base within the public sector market, ideally with a minimum of two-years working in government sales.
Can/Am is embarking on an ambitious growth phase, expanding our presence across North America and deepening relationships with local government entities. You will be a key player in identify and developing new client accounts, building lasting relationships, working alongside a committed group of professionals.
In addition, you will execute the full sales cycle, contribute to sales strategy development, and represent Can/Am at industry conferences. You will report to the VP of Sales and Marketing. This position would cover a number of central states (15) ranging from Texas to Minnesota. Eight of those states already have Teller clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
5+ years of experience in a direct Account Executive position
Sales experience in the public sector market strongly preferred
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to work a flexible schedule
Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time
Residence in Texas highly preferred
Key Responsibilities
Execute full sales cycle from prospecting through closing
Identify and develop new clients for SaaS products and services
Research and pursue sales opportunities and new business development
Occasionally conduct product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients if Sales Solution Consultants are unavailable
Prepare proposals and assist in contract negotiations
Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals
Represent the company at various sales conferences and industry events
Prepare and deliver sales materials, exhibits, and presentations
Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and provide regular sales reports
Build positive relationships with partners and distributors
Provide feedback on market trends and competitive landscape
Key Goals and Success Criteria
Year 1 Performance Targets:
Revenue Generation: Achieve a minimum of $1M in new Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) within the first 12 months
New Client Acquisition: Close 10 to 12 new client contracts
Sales Pipeline Development: Maintain a healthy pipeline of at least 3x quota in qualified opportunities
Sales Cycle Efficiency: Progress opportunities through the sales cycle
Activity Metrics: Conduct minimum of 15 qualified prospect meetings per quarter
Proposal Success Rate: Convert at least 30% of leads to closed deals
Territory Development: Establish presence and build relationships in assigned geographic territory
Build relationships with the Can/Am Partners in your territory
Success Indicators:
Consistently meeting or exceeding quarterly revenue targets ($250K ARR per quarter)
Building a robust network of contacts within local government decision-makers
Demonstrating strong product knowledge and ability to articulate value proposition
Effective use of CRM system with accurate forecasting, KPI analytics and pipeline management
Positive feedback from clients on professionalism and consultative approach
Successful collaboration with implementation and support teams to ensure smooth client onboarding
