Personal Trainer – Sacramento YMCA

YMCA of Superior California is a community‑centric association committed to inspiring all to a healthy life in spirit, mind and body.

We are looking for a dedicated certified instructor who can teach multiple training formats including private training, small group training, and group exercise classes.

Sub openings vary within the following schedule:

Monday‑Friday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

Responsibilities

Coaching within our Group Fitness department with assistance from the Health & Wellness management.

Performing traditional fitness coach duties, including conducting assessments, attending monthly meetings, and designing class workouts for small‑medium groups.

Consulting with new members regarding fitness goals and aspirations.

Meeting sales and service initiatives by creating consumer demand for fitness services.

Establishing clientele through developing meaningful relationships with members and providing outstanding service.

Expectations

Be competent in teaching dynamic warm‑up and flexibility drills.

Demonstrate competency of training techniques, including strength and conditioning formats.

Be eager to learn and open to constructive feedback.

Comfortable interacting with clients, children, parents, etc.

Display a positive demeanor toward members, guests, and staff.

Present yourself as a role model for our members.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Current nationally recognized certification or a college degree in a related field from an accredited university.

Current CPR/AED/FIRST AID certification (within 60 days of employment).

Previous sales/customer relations experience preferred (not required).

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

At least 1 year of CPT experience preferred.

At least 1 year of sales experience preferred.

Group exercise experience preferred.
