Position Summary

Department: Orlando Health Medical Group Pediatric Neurosurgery. Shift: First. Location: 100 W Gore St Ste. 403, Orlando, FL 32806. At Orlando Health Children’s Neuroscience Institute we offer comprehensive pediatric neuroscience programs. The institute includes 22 physicians and 17 advanced practice providers across specialties including behavioral health, neurology, neurosurgery, etc. Responsibilities

Inpatient management of acute, critically ill pediatric patients. Perioperative management including first or second assist in OR; surgical wound care, incision and drainage, debridement, dressing. Perioperative care coordination and patient education to enhance care of pediatric orthopedic patients. Evaluate neurosurgical consults at Arnold Palmer Hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital, including ED consults, trauma alerts, floor consults. Outpatient clinic visits including specialty clinics, satellite clinic, post‑operative and trauma follow‑ups, acute care visits. First call trauma coverage managing nursing calls, ED consults, emergent surgical needs, new admissions, parent phone calls. Qualifications

Master’s degree or Doctorate in Nursing (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) or Physician Assistant Studies. Minimum 3 years experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Pediatrics, preferred surgical specialty. Certified Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant; current active certification and licensure in Florida. Maintain current BLS and PALS certification. Two years pediatric or general surgery experience desired; neurosurgical, trauma, or orthopedics experience plus; Surgery, critical care, trauma or ED fellowship trained APP desired. New graduates will be considered.
