Overview
Commercial Quality Assurance (QA) has an opportunity for a Quality Intelligence Project Manager based in Columbus, Ohio. This role supports Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain (ANSC) Quality Assurance initiatives and plays a critical role in ensuring global quality and compliance across manufacturing sites and commercial affiliates.
About the Role As a Quality Intelligence Project Manager within the Commercial QA Global Strategy team, you will support global quality and compliance activities by leading multiple medium- to large-scale projects. This role focuses on managing regulatory and compliance-driven quality assessments and ensuring timely updates to quality systems across the supply chain and commercial affiliates.
The position works independently with Abbott affiliates, AN Division QA, manufacturing plants (U.S. and OUS), R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain teams. Success in this role requires strong leadership, governance oversight, and the ability to assess market signals that impact quality systems while driving timely and effective change management.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and optimize processes for implementing published regulations and standards, including monitoring, assessment, and change management activities
Lead cross-functional remediation of current and emerging regulatory impacts on quality systems
Drive updates to policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with Abbott Nutrition and market requirements
Define project scope and develop detailed project plans to meet deliverables
Manage cross-functional timelines and ensure timely completion of project milestones
Identify and manage project risks and issues, escalating to senior leadership as needed
Address resource constraints through data-driven business proposals to mitigate compliance risk
Provide clear and consistent written and verbal communication to stakeholders on project status, scope, and timelines
Lead and participate in global projects in alignment with PMO governance standards
Integrate AQR and AN QA initiatives based on compliance risk, resource availability, and business priorities
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Accountability / Scope Quality and compliance are critical to Abbott Nutrition’s competitive advantage. Any deviation from quality standards or regulatory requirements can have significant business impact. This role operates with limited supervision and holds responsibility for maintaining high-quality and compliance standards.
Required
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience (Business Administration, Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Engineering, or related fields)
5–7 years of experience in a regulated nutritional or food manufacturing environment (preferably pediatric or medical nutrition) in Quality, R&D, Project Management, Procurement, or Operations
Strong knowledge of food GxP, nutritional regulations, manufacturing controls, and quality systems
3–5 years of experience in project leadership roles
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
Ability to plan, lead, and facilitate meetings
Effective stakeholder management skills
Experience working with international teams and partners
Preferred
Master’s degree
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (PMI)
Ingredient, process, and formulation expertise in nutritional or infant products
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Class A, etc.)
