Assist Manager or Irrigation Technician II in maintaining and performing repairs on complex irrigation (automatic) systems. Hand waters golf course as directed by supervisors. Perform technical tasks and manual labor involved in maintaining and repairing golf course irrigation systems. Operate and maintain pumping equipment. Read water flow meters. Repair broken pipe and swing joints. Perform preventive maintenance on Cla-valves, PRV screens (including pressure settings). Change head spacing for more effective water distribution. Raise or lower irrigation heads as required. Monitor and reset angle of spray on part-circle heads so that only turf is irrigated. Maintain drainage systems and equipment. Other duties as assigned by supervisors and management. Qualifications
At least one year of experience in golf course maintenance and familiarity with basic irrigation practices are preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Required to stand and walk – Frequently Required to lift and/or push and/or pull up to 80 pounds – Occasionally Ability to drive a motor vehicle – Frequently Required to work in an outdoor working environment – Constantly Exposed to extreme temperatures and inclement weather – Regularly Required to work in trenches to repair pipes in uncomfortable positions and confined spaces - Regularly Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
