The Research Assistant will also contribute to the preparation of research publications and presentations.**Essential Functions:*** Assist in organizing and coordinating academic events, seminars, or workshops.* Maintain effective communication with the faculty.* Other duties assigned on a rolling basis.**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:*** Part-time.* 10 expected hours per week.**Salary Range:*** $17.95 per hour.**Required Education and Experience:*** Good academic standing with a strong GPA.* Excellent and professional verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as organizational skills and attention to detail.* Ability to seek out, coordinate, and appropriately disseminate information.* Effective organizational and time management skills.* Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.**Preferred Education and Experience:*** Courses in econometrics and/or statistics are preferred.* Familiarity with statistics software, such as MATLAB or STATA.* Familiarity with research methodologies, data analysis, and literature review.* Previous research experience is an asset.**Other Details*** **This position is available only to enrolled American University students.*** Please note this job announcement is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
