Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Help patients with mobility and transfers, including lifting and positioning
Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
Assist in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment for patients
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care
Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide emotional support
Skills
Ability to lift and move patients safely and with proper body mechanics
Experience in assisted living or long-term care settings preferred
Knowledge of patient care techniques and infection control protocols
Valid driver's license for transportation purposes
Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Understanding of social work principles for providing holistic care to patients
Familiarity with dementia care practices and behavior management techniques
Previous experience in homecare or related fields is a plus
