Maersk Training US is seeking Well Control instructors to deliver IADC and IWCF courses on a consultancy basis. Key Responsibilities
Deliver IADC Well Control courses (Level 1-4 Surface, Level 1-3 Subsea) according to IADC requirements
Deliver IWCF Well Control courses as per accreditation standards
Conduct practical assessments for IWCF certification candidates
Prepare and execute training sessions professionally to Maersk Training and industry standards
Maintain current knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices
Support accreditation compliance and contribute to course material development
Collaborate with the Houston team to ensure consistent quality and client satisfaction
Complete administrative requirements including attendance records and student evaluations
We are looking for Essential Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of drilling industry experience in supervisory or operational roles
Approved instructor status by IADC and/or IWCF for Well Control courses
Accredited assessor status by IWCF for conducting practical assessments
Current knowledge of drilling operations, well control principles, and emergency response procedures
Strong communication and presentation skills with diverse adult learners
Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Ability to travel to Louisiana facilities (Robert and Houma) as needed
Available for flexible scheduling including short-notice assignments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multiple well control simulator platforms
Additional language skills (Spanish, Portuguese) are advantageous
Previous instructional experience with multiple training providers
Subsea drilling operations experience
MPD (Managed Pressure Drilling) experience or instruction capability
Engagement Details
Engagement as independent contractor/consultant
Day rate compensation structure
Flexible scheduling based on mutual availability and training calendar
Assignments range from 1-5 day courses
