The TU Center for STEM Excellence is hiring an
Education & Outreach Coordinator
to deliver hands‑on STEM field trips (grades 3–12) at the SciTech Student Learning Lab and support our programs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Teach engaging STEM lessons for K–12 students.
Build communication, leadership, and lab skills (PCR, gel electrophoresis, etc.).
Learn program and event logistics.
Gain administrative and grant project experience.
Strengthen your résumé with professional skills for education, nonprofits, and STEM fields.
What You’ll Do
Lead and/or co‑lead classes in the SciTech Student Learning Lab for grades 3–12.
Support lab operations by preparing equipment and materials for SciTech classes and Loaner Lab kits.
Provide logistics & admin support for educational programs.
Note: the position is located at the TU Center for STEM Excellence in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore (701 E. Pratt St., 21202) and not on TU’s main campus.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree.
Strong organization, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills.
One year of experience working with K‑12 students.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, OneDrive, Google tools, Zoom, and similar platforms.
Flexibility, patience, and a growth mindset.
Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in a STEM/Computer Science/Education field.
Prior teaching/instructional experience in formal or informal STEM education.
Salary and Benefits Hourly rate of $22/hr. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage.
