Eric Sheffield Architect is looking for a junior / intermediate architect with 1-4 years of professional experience to apply for a full-time in-person position.
About us: We are a small residential architecture firm located in the West Village in New York City. We specialize in guiding high‑end residential renovation projects through the complete process from concept design to completion. We offer a great working environment, collaborating with notable designers, consultants, and clients. About the position:
Coordinate the design, permitting and construction process of several projects at a time, in close collaboration with clients, designers, engineers, contractors and consultants
Create filing sets for the Department of Buildings and Landmarks Preservation Committee, while ensuring the design of each project adheres to NYC's building department codes and historic preservation guidelines
Frequently visit project sites throughout the city to oversee progress and answer questions
Create permitting and construction drawing sets in collaboration with the wider project team
Prepare construction drawings, details, and schedules for bidding
Opportunities to gain NCARB AXP hours in all required areas of experience under a licensed architect
About you:
AutoCAD proficient
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills
Eager to learn, self motivated and proactive
Strong multi‑tasking and organizational skills
Basic understanding of New York City Building Department and Landmarks process preferred
Experience with construction administration and construction documentation preferred
Good knowledge of residential construction methods and materials
Degree in architecture from an accredited school
1-4 years of relevant professional experience
Authorized to work in the United States
Our compensation includes: A competitive salary starting at $65,000 - $90,000 a year commensurate with experience, plus healthcare benefits, including vision and dental, Simple IRA with employer contribution, 10 vacation days, 6 personal days, and holidays.
