The opportunity Schedule
Monday - Friday with occasional scheduled weekends to meet business needs
7:00am - 3:30pm with required overtime
Job Responsibilities
Perform
complete teardown, overhaul, and rebuilding of carding machines , including:
Cylinder, doffer, flats, licker-in, feed rolls, and transfer systems
Clothing installation and maintenance :
Install, replace, grind, and strip card clothing (wire)
Set and adjust clothing clearances to meet quality specifications
Precision setting and alignment
of carding elements to ensure optimal fiber processing and sliver quality
Diagnose and correct
mechanical and process-related issues
affecting card performance
Conduct
preventive maintenance
according to production schedules and downtime windows
Collaborate with production and quality teams to:
Reduce waste and neps
Improve sliver uniformity
Support uptime and efficiency goals
Perform
start-up checks and test runs
following overhaul to validate machine readiness
Maintain accurate
maintenance and overhaul documentation , including parts used and adjustments made
Ensure strict adherence to
safety, lockout/tagout, and housekeeping standards
Support continuous improvement and assist with
process optimization initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills
Ability to learn carding machinery in OE spinning (Rieter, Trützschler, or similar systems a plus)
Experience working with systems and precision setting tools
Ability to read and interpret:
Mechanical drawings
Maintenance manuals
Work instructions
Mechanical aptitude in:
Bearings, belts, chains, drives, and lubrication systems
Problem-Solving & Work Skills
Strong troubleshooting ability with a quality- and safety-first mindset
High attention to detail and precision workmanship
Ability to work independently or as part of a maintenance team
Effective communication with production, supervisors, and engineering personnel
Willingness to support overtime, rotating shifts, or shutdown maintenance as required
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy components with tools or mechanical assist
Comfortable working in industrial manufacturing environments with noise, dust, and moving machinery
Able to stand, bend, climb, and work in confined or elevated areas for extended periods
