We're seeking an experienced
Die Setter
to join our 3rd shift production team. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and precise press operations within a high-performance automotive manufacturing environment.
You’ll be responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of mechanical and hydraulic presses specifically
Cincinnati 550-ton presses
used in
powder metal compacting
and
forging applications .
Key Responsibilities
Safely install and set up die tooling, including punches, cavities, and core rods.
Operate and adjust press settings (pressure, speed, dwell time) to meet production specifications.
Inspect compacted parts to ensure correct density, dimensions, and weight.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
Maintain accurate production records, including scrap and adjustment logs.
Support quality control processes and daily 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
Participate in preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum
3 years of hands‑on experience
as a Die Setter or Press Operator.
Powder metal experience
is
mandatory .
Strong knowledge of
mechanical/hydraulic presses
(Cincinnati 550 preferred).
Proven ability to troubleshoot
mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems .
Familiarity with
forging presses, die setup, and material flow .
Experience reading
blueprints
and applying
GD&T
principles.
Proficiency in using
quality inspection tools
(micrometers, hardness testers, CMM).
Education
High school diploma or GED equivalent
required.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years
in powder metal compacting.
Experience in
metal forging
or
automotive component manufacturing .
Understanding of the
metallurgical properties
of ferrous and non-ferrous powders.
Additional Information
This position offers a
$0.75 shift differential
included in the rate.
