Diesel Mechanic – Tanker/Trailer
Our Diesel Mechanics keep our fleet safe, compliant, and operating efficiently.
Location: Des Moines, IA
Pay: $29.00–$34.00/hr DOE + Quarterly Bonus
Shift: 5:00 am–3:00 pm or 7:00 am–5:00 pm
Responsibilities
Perform truck and DOT 406/407 trailer maintenance and repairs
Complete annual inspections and accurate documentation
Troubleshoot issues and ensure equipment safety
Communicate repair needs or delays
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop
Additional duties as assigned
Schedule
Morning/Day shift
Occasional weekend availability required
Physical Requirements
Standing, walking, reaching, and handling throughout shift
Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling
Lift/carry up to 100 lbs
Use PPE and work safely with equipment
Vision: close, distance, color, depth
Education
High School Diploma/GED required
Technical school preferred
Experience
3+ years diesel mechanic experience
3+ years trailer/tanker mechanic experience required
Registered Tanker Inspector preferred (training available)
Tanker experience and CDL preferred
Must have own tools and toolbox
Skills / Competencies
