Responsibilities

Provide high level of customer service and assist customers with questions, special orders, and product location.

Practice safe food handling procedures and maintain product knowledge and preparation techniques.

Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks.

Count and weigh incoming articles, compare results against invoices, and examine meats in storage to rotate for freshness.

Participate in “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs.

Adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.

Perform general housekeeping in the department.

Qualifications

At least 18 years old, high school diploma or equivalent, basic math, weights and measures knowledge.

Dependable, reliable, with flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Outgoing, friendly attitude, strong communication skills, and teamwork ability.

Physical ability to stand up to 4 hours continuously (8 hours total), walk up to 2 miles per shift, and perform general housekeeping.

Vision suitable for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.

Strength to lift/carry products between 25–90 lbs. (up to 10 ft for 2 hr), move pallets up to 500 lbs. (up to 100 ft for 5 hr), move product racks up to 70 lbs. (up to 50 ft for 10 hr), and move tables up to 70 lbs. (up to 2 ft for 1 hr).

Can work inside a temperature‑controlled area and perform housekeeping duties.

Other general duties as assigned.
