Position Summary A Granulation Technical Operator is responsible for setting up, operating and ensuring the granulation system is producing a quality product, as specified by the Quality Department and product specifications, by adjusting and controlling system controls parameters and conducting in process checks of the product. This role also includes cleaning. This role reports to the Shift Lead and the Plant Manager.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Inspects work area for unsafe conditions daily.

Operates assigned system in a safe and efficient manner.

Performs preventative maintenance and servicing of equipment as required.

Ensures hazardous energy to equipment is locked out before repair or cleaning activities begin.

Assists Maintenance with minor repairs of equipment as directed.

Sets up pack out equipment for bags or super sacks as directed on the production schedule including Inkjet printer when required.

Conduct regularly scheduled in-process checks to ensure granule size and bag weights are within specification.

Responsible for maintaining packaging supply inventory within the production facility.

Produces and loads materials as established by the Leads and/or Production Schedule.

Legibly completes paperwork including batch records, plant orders, sample bags, inspection reports etc.

Keeps work area, warehouse and washroom in a neat and orderly condition following GMP guidelines.

Conduct packaging of product as required.

Advises succeeding Operator(s), Lead and maintenance of operating problems and conditions.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Technical school a plus.

3 to 5 years industrial experience or a combination of education and experience preferred.

Willing and able to work and act safely.

Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations that include the following: multiplication, addition, and percentages – all of which can be accomplished with the use of a calculator if needed.

Good oral and written communication skills and speak and write in English.

Physical Requirements

Work is conducted in an area with exposure to ambient heat/cold and noise. Exposure to vibrations, grease, oil and powdery conditions. Plant system equipment is located on multiple levels and requires climbing stairs or stationary ladders to monitor, adjust, clean or service equipment or sensors. Noise level is moderate to high. Work is performed on concrete floor or raised mezzanine.

Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Sitting 0%, walking 70%, standing 100%, bending 30%, stoop/kneel/bend 20% and crouch/crawl 5% of the time during the shift.

Wet environment when washing parts or equipment.
