Qualifications

HS Diploma or GED required

College coursework preferred, experience may substitute on a 2:1 ratio

Minimum 2 years' logistics and event experience

Extensive skills in multitasking and project/program support

Must be computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office products

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Problem solving capabilities

Must have the ability to work with the public, and appropriately represent The Salvation Army's image in the community

Ability to work & communicate with broad-spectrum audience

Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Must have reliable transportation with an AZ driver's license and clean driving record

Must pass The Salvation Army's Fleet Safety e-learning

Experience with driving box truck (26') preferred

Forklift operators license required

Responsibilities Events

Maintain a thorough understanding of the purposes & functions of TSA programs & operations throughout Metro Phoenix area.

Work on a collaborative team that manages Phoenix Metro activities and programs.

Run errands for inter-agency projects and events as assigned.

Assist with special events and seasonal campaigns as assigned, including transportation of equipment, set-up and tear-down of event supplies

Logistics

Coordinate event(s) logistics for Phoenix Metro (Water Drive, Backpack SOS, Turkey Drive, etc.)

Manage logistics for Phoenix Metro activities

Coordinate on-call drivers as needed for events and programs

Create drive slips & coordinate pick up time & destinations with drive host and on-call drivers

Pick up donations when on-call drivers are unavailable

Warehouse

Organize and maintain warehouse for optimal storage and program utilization.

Pickup, deliver, and distribute donations as assigned

Assist with special events and programs by helping to manage warehouse space & use.

Assist with Emergency Disaster Services in storing, inventory, and donations management as assigned.

Maintain orderly storage of all food products and other materials in the proper areas, including commodities.

Generate and maintain inventory logs for all materials, equipment and properties passing through or being stored in the warehouse.

Assist with water management for Heat Relief & toy and food management for Christmas distribution.

Maintain proper storage of all Christmas items in their assigned area.

Assist with the purging and storing of DHQ documents, and maintain security of all warehouse cages.

Work with each DHQ Department to ensure that the storage cages are maintained in an orderly fashion, keeping an inventory of pallets and contents of the pallets by department.

Maintain cleanliness and safety of warehouse space, including regular sweeping and restroom cleaning

Do a daily sweep around exterior of warehouse and DHQ properties to keep areas clear of debris

Vehicles

Responsible for management of fleet vehicles assigned to Metro Phoenix, including trucks

Weekly cleaning of vehicle interiors and exteriors

Weekly checking of vehicles, including checking fluids, filling gas tanks, etc., and to identify maintenance issues

Scheduling of vehicles for repairs and regular maintenance

Other duties as assigned as they relate to the position.

Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
