Position Overview
A growing manufacturing company is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support day-to-day inventory accuracy across raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods. This role is hands-on and closely tied to production, shipping/receiving, and purchasing.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in a manufacturing environment and direct, hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) for inventory transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods using
Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
Perform cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies
Execute inventory transactions in D365 (receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments)
Support production by ensuring material availability and accurate inventory locations
Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams on inventory flowTrack material movement, lot control, and traceability as required
Identify root causes of inventory variances and support corrective actions
Assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy
Required Qualifications
2+ years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (required)
Experience managing raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Comfortable working on the production floor and in warehouse settings
Basic Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in metals, aluminum, extrusion, or fabrication manufacturing
Experience with cycle counting programs and inventory audits
Familiarity with barcoding or scanner-based inventory systems
Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
