Job Title Material Handler, 1st shift – Monday – Thursday 6:30 am–5:00 pm

Reports To Warehouse Supervisor

Department Materials Management

Summary Operate material handling equipment for accurately picking material to be used in production, replenish production stations as needed, and assist Filling Line Operators with meeting production demands as needed.

Duties

Must be able to attain certification to operate material handling equipment.

High level of attention to detail.

Take upcoming work orders and pull all necessary materials (boxes, cans, labels, etc.) and place in designated staging areas to keep production flowing with little to no downtime.

Keep back dock clean.

Take empty skids and skins to warehouse for storage.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment that contributes to 5S.

When required, handle incoming stock from receiving and place in proper location.

Other duties as required.

Language Ability – Ability to read English and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write in English.

Mathematical Ability – Basic mathematical knowledge, including addition and subtraction.

Reasoning Ability – Ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to understand and interpret production documentation.

Computer Skills – None required.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold (non‑weather) and extreme heat (non‑weather). The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.

Physical Demands The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to walk, talk, or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; the employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms or stoop.
