A Brief Overview As a Technician Trainee, you will receive hands‑on and classroom training that will prepare you to become a proficient auto glass technician. Upon completing the training program, trainees receive the Safelite SafeTech certification and are equipped with the fundamental skills to perform unsupervised glass repair, replacement, and recalibrations. We expect trainees to embody the Safelite Spirit with a can‑do attitude, a caring heart, and a customer‑service mindset, delivering jobs on time and with the highest quality standards.

What You Will Do

Be paid to learn and apprentice the Safelite way, through hands‑on and classroom training.

Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass.

Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.

Provide additional services and products.

Study for and pass testing to become a Safelite‑certified Technician, demonstrating proficiency in installations and a positive attitude.

Operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals safely.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Comply with all policies and standards.

What You’ll Get

Competitive weekly pay starting at $21.25/hour, increasing to $25.25/hour after training and certification.

Earn $5 per set of wiper blades added for customer safety.

Education Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (Preferred).

Valid state‑issued driver’s license (Required).

Experience Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older (Required).

Skills And Abilities

Lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist the body.

Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

Operate a motor vehicle in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Maintain professionalism and passion for customer service, exceeding expectations.

Work outside under various weather conditions and temperatures for extended periods.

Handle chemicals (including flammable chemicals) as required.

Adapt schedule to accommodate customer needs.

Use computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.

Problem‑solve independently and collaboratively.

Read, write, and interpret English technical directions.

Communicate orally (phone) and in writing (computer or other means).

Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to dress code and PPE policies.

Maintain stable performance under pressure and opposition.
