Overview We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. The role supports daily store functions, processes corporate directives, and fosters a positive, safe environment for customers and associates.
Responsibilities
Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities
Help customers in a positive manner and address any questions or concerns
Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to store locations, maintaining seasonal areas
Perform opening and closing procedures
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, and other communications
Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays
Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and record‑keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts)
Maintain store areas, including a well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom, to company standards
Protect company assets, including store cash
Enforce safety guidelines and ensure all associates follow company policies
Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Associates
Create a positive, safe, respectful environment with professional interactions
Maintain cleanliness throughout the store (bathrooms, floors, trash, general presentation)
Other duties as assigned*
Skills and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; reading and explaining operational directives required
Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and handle repetitive movements
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
Capacity to work in a high‑energy team environment required
Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required
Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills required
