Description:
Operate industrial trucks or tractors equipped to move materials around a warehouse, storage yard, factory, construction site, or similar location.
Summary:
Warehouse activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Build bulk delivery pallets for customers and load them onto bulk delivery vehicles in proper order.
Daily shipping/receiving tasks: unloading trucks, verifying shipment correctness against bills of lading or other records, checking for shortages, rejecting damaged goods, applying dunnage, and routing merchandise to the correct department or loading area. Take initiative to verify accuracies and deliver received shipments to the proper department.
Operate gas, propane, or electric powered forklift or pallet jack to collect and deliver a variety of goods, materials, and products within the warehouse or loading docks.
Assist with general routine maintenance of the warehouse (e.g., replacing light bulbs, emptying garbage cans, and keeping the shipping area clean and orderly).
Inspect products and equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards; perform cleaning of equipment and inspect premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
Repack damaged product according to company standards.
Participate in the safety program and follow all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
Forklift Operator certification is a plus.
Work Environment The work environment characteristics described include outdoor weather conditions, exposure to moving mechanical parts, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually moderate.
Physical Demands Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Hands are frequently used for finger, handle, or feel tasks; reaching with hands and arms, speaking, and hearing are required. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk, occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Background Requirements Employee must pass background check, motor vehicle driver check, drug screen, and agility test.
Salary:
Minimum $31,200 | Maximum $42,000
