Job Overview Must certify in all position mig welding as outlined in ISO 9001 welding qualification. Must have a basic understanding of metal properties and be able to set up and efficiently operate a wide range of welding craft equipment. Interpret blueprints, customer provided sketches and drawings and apply this knowledge to the product.
Tools and Equipment Welding machines (both mig and stick), hand plasma, cutting torch, hand grinders, hoists, tow motor, bore tech, burn table, bending press, ironworker, saw and drillpress.
Key Job Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints to determine necessary repairs to be made. Uses necessary equipment to affect repairs.
Cuts material from stock.
Uses cutting torch or hand plasma to remove defective parts from main assembly.
Examines work piece to verify conformance to specifications.
Uses grinder to clean welds.
When required, uses tow motor or hoist to move or position work piece.
Plans layout of weldments based on prints, sketches, etc.
Positions and aligns parts utilizing hand tools, etc.
Welds parts utilizing a variety of welding processes per drawing or print.
Inspects work to ensure specifications and dimensions are correct.
Assembles final products and assists with the compatibility process.
Obeys all safety rules and performs housekeeping assignments.
Records labor and verifies quality with proper documents.

Use basic math

Proper fork truck operation
Proper crane operation
Safety training (Haz-Com, Lock Out / Tag Out, PPE, MSDS, Housekeeping, Lifting, Electrical)
Knowledgeable of ISO
Use presses
Operate ironworker
Mig weld / stick weld
Hand Plasma
Familiar with Burn Table operation
Use cutting torch
Operate grinders
Operate band saw
Operate press brake
Familiar with bore tech operation
Certified welder
Additional Requirements
Two years experience in fabrication welding
Have basic tools or be willing to purchase
Able to work any shift
Able to work overtimeAble to work weekends
