Overview
1.1. Calibration Oversight: Ensure all gauges and measurement tools are calibrated in accordance with established industry standards. Maintain and manage the Calibration Management System (Calibration Recall) to ensure timely updates and traceability. 1.2. Quality Verification: Inspect and verify incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to meet defined quality standards and specifications. 1.3. Document Control: Oversee and maintain document control processes to ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS). 1.4. Internal Auditing: Conduct internal audits to verify that documented procedures and operational processes align with QMS requirements. 1.5. Equipment Support: Assist in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities related to laboratory and testing equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. 1.6. Customer Satisfaction: Uphold the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations. KEY AREAS OF ACTIVITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
2.1. Calibration & Equipment Maintenance: Perform calibration, routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of instruments and test equipment to meet industry standards. Verify accuracy of production instruments. 2.2. Gauge Management: Conduct daily checks of gauge calibration status on the production floor and within the Calibration Management System. Recall gauges as needed to maintain compliance. 2.3. External Calibration Coordination: Liaise with third-party calibration laboratories for instruments requiring external calibration services. 2.4. In-Process Quality Control: Execute complex inspections and establish quality benchmarks for steel and plastic production. Communicate necessary adjustments to Production Supervisors to ensure quality targets are met. 2.5. Incoming Material Inspection: Follow established protocols to inspect and test raw materials and factored goods. Reject and return non-conforming steel and plastic materials. 2.6. Finished Product Audits: Audit completed products by verifying specifications through visual and measurement testing. Return failed items for rework and assess rework quality against company standards. 2.7. Quality Documentation: Record inspection outcomes in reports, logs, and discrepancy material reports. Summarize rework, waste, and scrap data, and input findings into the quality database. 2.8. Audit Representation: Serve as the calibration representative during internal and external audits. 2.9. Lab Equipment Troubleshooting: Diagnose lab equipment issues and coordinate with the maintenance team for complex repairs. 2.10. Sample Preparation: Prepare product samples using surface grinding, cutting, mounting, polishing, and microscopy techniques. 2.11. Mechanical Testing: Conduct mechanical tests including hardness, fatigue, tensile strength, and magnetic particle inspection. Ensuring the machine testing equipment is maintained for continuous operation. 2.12. Consumables Management: Order necessary consumables and replacement parts for lab equipment. 2.13. Workplace Safety: Promote and maintain a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to company standards and legal regulations. 2.14. Experience & Education: 4.1. 3–5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical inspection, including calibration of gauges and instruments. 4.2. High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred Technical Expertise: 4.3. Proficient in troubleshooting various gauges, including height gauges, calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, 3D scanner, and feeler gauges 4.4. Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, angle gauges, and radius gauges 4.5. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) 4.6. Familiarity with Calibration Management Software, gauge traceability, and Quality Management Systems (QMS). 4.7. Knowledge of lab processes including surface grinding, sample cutting, polishing, microscopy, hardness testing, tensile testing, and magnetic particle inspection (preferred) 4.8. Knowledge of machine fundamentals, mechanical components standard and metric fasteners, belts, bearings electrical systems, pneumatic systems, and lubrication systems. 4.9. Knowledge of root cause analysis, statistical process control preferred. Mechanical Aptitude: 4.10. Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on lab equipment 4.11. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, equipment, and software programs Analytical & Documentation Skills: 4.12. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications 4.13. Capable of analyzing inspection data and accurately documenting findings 4.14. Product Quality Assurance: Consistently ensure that all products distributed to customers meet or exceed established quality standards. 5.3. Audit Compliance: Fulfill all internal and external audit requirements related to calibration, demonstrating full compliance with audit schedules and documentation standards. 5.4. Regulatory Adherence: Achieve zero notices of violation or administrative consent orders by maintaining strict compliance with environmental, legal, and regulatory obligations.
