Pay Range:

$17.00/hr - $21.00/hr

Overview The Pet Care Technician / Front Desk Associate ensures the health, safety, and satisfaction of pets and clients at Paw Commons Pet Resort. The dual‑role position combines animal care expertise with front desk operations, including client communication, facility maintenance, and administrative support.

Responsibilities

Administer feedings, medications, and monitor water intake per veterinary guidelines.

Observe and promptly report changes in animal health or behavior to management.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the daycare, lobby, and animal enclosures.

Manage check‑ins/check‑outs and handle reservations and phone inquiries.

Provide clients with updates on pet health, behavior, or incidents using positive language.

Maintain accurate records in Gingr for pet health, client interactions, and service details.

Reconcile cash drawers, manage tips, and document transactions at shift end.

Monitor inventory (food, cleaning supplies, medications) and report shortages.

Assist in onboarding new staff on pet care protocols, safety procedures, and customer service standards.

Mentor peers and share best practices to promote teamwork.

Qualifications

Prior experience in animal care, customer service, or hospitality preferred.

Familiarity with pet health monitoring, feeding schedules, and basic medical administration.

Strong customer service orientation and ability to resolve client concerns professionally.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams) and familiarity with Gingr software.

Organizational skills to multitask between pet care duties, reservations, and record‑keeping.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in noisy or humid conditions.

Fluency in English; bilingual skills encouraged.

Preferred Certifications

Certifications such as Fear Free, Pet First Aid/CPR, or similar credentials.

Education

High school diploma or GED recommended.

Physical Requirements Requires frequent walking, standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and exposure to wet/hot conditions or loud noises. Occasional bending, crouching, and verbal communication are required.
