Unit Secretary
Join Rochester Regional Health as a Unit Secretary.
Location: Newark Wayne Community Hospital, Newark, NY 14513. Hours: 36 per week, Monday - Friday 6:00 am–6:00 pm and alternate weekends.
Summary As a Unit Secretary, you play an integral role on the nursing unit, assisting with communications, process management, supplies, patient care, and documentation.
Responsibilities
Daily Administration – answer telephone, route calls, provide admin support for nurses and physicians, sort/distribute mail, create work orders, HELPSTAR tickets, report unit needs, and maintain inventory.
Patient Care – perform daily rounding, update whiteboards, ensure safety measures, respond to patient call for service when needed, and monitor arrivals and discharges.
Documentation – ensure concise, pertinent, and complete patient care documentation.
Required Qualifications
Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in NYS (if working as a CNAs in Long Term Care).
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree preferred.
Two years related work experience in a healthcare or customer‑service setting preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills highly desired.
Excellent organizational skills highly desired.
Experience with PC and office programs (database, spreadsheets, word processing, presentation) highly desired.
Education & Licenses Relevant education and certifications as required.
Pay Range $17.50 – $19.65 per hour.
Physical Requirements Sedentary work, occasional exertion up to 10 pounds.
