GreatLIFE Golf is one of the largest golf course ownership / management companies in the country with over 50 golf courses in multiple states. Palisades Country Club located in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking a full‑time, hourly Course Maintenance I employee to join our agronomy team.
Pay Rate : $16.00 per hour
Job Description Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Performs semi‑skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks as required. Responsible for daily course appearance.
Essential Responsibilities
Assists with preparing the course for daily play: raking bunkers, cutting and trimming greens, tees, fairways, roughs, assisting with watering, preparing soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material.
Applies growth enhancers, disease control, mulch, and other chemicals as instructed.
Uses hand or power equipment to cut grass and trim weeds, employing weed trimmers and brush cutters.
Plants grass, trees, shrubs or flowers according to instruction and landscape design.
Operates small machinery for edging, trimming and mowing; operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.
Performs general landscape maintenance, general labor, and cleaning related to equipment.
Delivers drinking water on course.
Incorporates safe work practices throughout all tasks.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school education preferred; or up to one month related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands Regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; reach overhead; stoop, stand, bend over, sit, kneel and squat for extended periods; lift, pull, push materials and equipment; frequently lift 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards. Work extended hours during golf season.
