Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Facility: DSH – Atascadero
Responsibilities
Prepare weekly diet menus and monitor changes.
Process diet orders into Diet Line, Regular Line, and special nourishment instructions.
Compose special modified diet slips for diets not listed on the menu.
Maintain patient diet kardexes and related data such as movement sheets and renewals.
Prepare and distribute required production/presentation forms (e.g., Special Order Sheets and tally of special nourishment items).
Complete data entry into foodservice software (e.g., Computrition).
Provide support to Clinical Dietitians.
Monitor and help coordinate provision of modified diets, including meal service.
Act as a consultant to Nutrition Services staff on technical aspects of preparing and serving modified diets and nourishments across Diet Line, Regular Line, and on‑unit service.
Maintain requirements for safety, security, infection control, emergency response, and a non‑hostile work environment.
Qualifications / Eligibility
Successfully complete the competitive State civil service exam for this classification (Dietetic Technician) as outlined in the Dietetic Technician Exam Bulletin.
Have current employment with the State of California in the same classification or a comparable classification (meeting minimum qualifications per DPA Rule 250).
Have obtained previous permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or comparable classification.
Provide proof of minimum qualifications (e.g., unofficial college transcripts) with your application.
Applicants not meeting minimum qualifications may be removed from the eligibility list.
