Maintenance Technician I, II, or III - 2nd Shift Maker's Pride is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team in Itasca, IL. The role requires mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for plant equipment.

Job Summary The Maintenance Technician performs scheduled preventive maintenance, unscheduled repairs, and emergency troubleshooting on machinery, equipment, and plant facilities. The position includes reading equipment manuals, working with job orders, and maintaining documentation for preventive maintenance programs.

Benefits and Compensation

Competitive hourly wage ($28.60-$33.90/hr depending on level) with a 2nd‑shift differential

Retention bonus: 50% after 90 days, 50% after 180 days (up to $5,000)

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct maintenance according to skill level, safety policies, and procedures.

Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.

Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report unusual situations to the facility maintenance manager.

Utilize Microsoft Office to order and schedule parts and jobs.

Perform work safely and use Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Completed or working toward a 2‑year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must be 18 years of age.

Read, write, and speak English; bilingual a plus.

Communicate effectively with maintenance manager, line workers, leads, supervisors, and plant manager.

Attention to detail and strong record‑keeping skills.

Highly motivated, flexible, and creative problem‑solving abilities.

Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Welding and fabrication, full understanding of 3‑phase electrical, 3‑phase motor controls, and troubleshooting AC & DC drives.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Manufacturing environment with exposure to machines, noise, and varying temperatures.

May be required to work weekend and night hours as needed.

Must regularly lift or move up to 60 pounds.

Team environment – communicate respectfully and professionally.
