Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. In this role, you will transfer goods and materials, operate gas or electric-powered forklifts, and move products safely throughout the warehouse. You will load and unload transport vehicles, conduct safety inspections, maintain accurate inventory, and report any discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate gas and electric forklifts to load, unload, stack, and move raw materials, parts, and finished goods.
Handle goods for inbound and outbound shipments with accuracy and efficiency.
Perform daily safety checks on forklift equipment.
Maintain accurate inventory control and report discrepancies in stock levels.
Support overall warehouse operations by ensuring safe and organized material handling.
May lead daily operations, delegate tasks, and review the work of team members.
Provide training and mentorship to junior employees, fostering skill development.
Independently analyze and solve complex problems, recommending improvements to increase operational efficiency.
Act as subject matter expert within the department, serving as a resource for others.
What You Bring to the Role
Recognized expertise in forklift operation and material handling.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, guide, and mentor warehouse team members.
Demonstrated problem‑solving and decision‑making ability for non‑routine challenges.
Highly proficient in warehouse processes and known as a reliable knowledge base within a team.
Ability to work independently, showing initiative and ownership of assignments.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of functional experience, including 4 years in forklift operations; OR
Associate degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant warehouse or material handling experience.
Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
Strong knowledge of safety procedures, inventory systems, and warehouse best practices.
