Job Summary
Position: Sewer Collection System Maintenance Worker – Public Works Department, Sewer Division, City of Reedley. 1 position.
Key Responsibilities
Perform variety of sewer maintenance activities including cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and minor repairs of sewer lines, lift stations, and wastewater treatment plant.
Operate specialized equipment such as vacuum jetter trucks, rods, dump trucks, hydro‑flushers, CCVC equipment, backhoes, forklifts, tractors, skid steers, compressors, generators.
Respond to call‑outs to assist in equipment, structures, and distribution system repair requirements in other divisions as needed.
Operate, monitor, maintain, lubricate, inspect, and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, valves, gates, screening equipment, gearboxes.
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to service, clean, and maintain collection system pipeline.
Write service orders, maintain accurate records, prepare reports.
Follow City safety rules, inform supervisor of unsafe conditions, incl. electric, chemical, and confined space hazards.
Keep tools and equipment in good working condition, report lost or damaged tools.
Work independently, organize, schedule and complete projects and minor repairs.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
