Warehouse Supervisor
Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor leads daily warehouse operations at a single-site food manufacturing facility with a strong emphasis on inventory accuracy, lot control, and traceability. This role ensures materials and finished goods are received, stored, staged, and shipped accurately while maintaining compliance with food safety, SQF, and inventory control requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
Supervise daily receiving, put-away, staging, picking, and shipping activities.
Assign and prioritize work to support production schedules and shipping deadlines.
Coordinate dock activity and material flow with Production, Planning, QA, and carriers.
Maintain an organized, clean, and audit-ready warehouse environment.
Inventory Control & Accuracy
Own inventory accuracy and ensure proper ERP transactions for all material movements.
Lead cycle counts and support physical inventories.
Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
Ensure accurate lot tracking, FIFO/FEFO rotation, expiration control, and location accuracy.
Manage QA holds, quarantined materials, and physical/system segregation.
Receiving & Shipping
Ensure inbound materials are verified, labeled, lot-coded, and stored correctly.
Coordinate with QA on inspections, holds, and rejections.
Ensure outbound shipments are accurate, compliant, and fully documented.
Food Safety & SQF Compliance
Enforce GMPs, sanitation standards, and food safety practices within the warehouse.
Maintain traceability and recall readiness through accurate documentation and transactions.
Support SQF and customer audits and implement corrective actions related to warehouse operations.
Leadership & Safety
Train, coach, and supervise warehouse employees.
Enforce safety policies and safe equipment operation.
Support staffing, scheduling, and performance accountability.
Qualifications
3+ years of warehouse leadership experience in food manufacturing or regulated environments.
Strong background in inventory control, lot tracking, and ERP/WMS discipline.
Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO, expiration management, and traceability requirements.
Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
SQF/GFSI experience preferred.
