Job Description Summary

Supports the maintenance and upkeep of Credit Union facilities to ensure a safe, secure and well-functioning environment for employees and members. This role performs preventive maintenance, responds to facility needs and assists with operational projects. Depending on experience, the position may also serve as a lead resource for escalated issues, provide guidance to other technicians and support supervisory needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs preventive maintenance on facilities, Credit Union vehicles, maintenance and construction equipment and building systems. Work may include electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire alarms, carpentry, welding, generators and locksmithing.

Assists with breakdown, rebuild, delivery, relocation and removal of furniture and equipment across all locations.

Supports event set up for the Community Relations team as needed and ensures tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Coordinates and oversees work performed by contractors and vendors to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.

Assists with inventory tracking, documentation and organization for the Asset Management Program and helps manage warehouse inventory.

Participates in after hours, weekend and holiday work when required.

Serves in the on‑call rotation for after hours facility needs.

Depending on experience, may provide updates on work activities and schedules to leadership.

May act as a backup in the absence of the supervisor and assist with escalated issues or advanced troubleshooting.

At higher experience levels, maintains current knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, OSHA standards and internal policies.

At higher experience levels, may mentor or train other Maintenance Technicians in areas of skill, safety and best practices.

Education & Experience To perform this job satisfactorily, an employee must be able to carry out each essential duty competently. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and abilities required.

Required: High School Diploma

Special Requirements

Required: Valid US driver’s license

Required: Must have a valid DOT health card or must pass a DOT physical and obtain a DOT health card within 30 days of employment.

Required: Annual OSHA training on specific tools, equipment, and/or procedures included but not limited to; Forklift, Lockout/Tagout, lifting, slip trips and falls.

Preferred: Alabama state certification or license in electrical, plumbing or HVAC

Physical Demands

Constant standing, sitting, walking, bending and climbing.

Using hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate computers and other standard office equipment.

Reaching with hands and arms.

Good vision, including but not limited to; close and long vision, depth perception and ability to distinguish color and shades.

Good hearing, in regular proximity and in louder work environments including but not limited to; warning signals and operating equipment sounds.

Lifting and carrying up in excess of 100 pounds.

Work Environment

Works in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment.

Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
