Job Summary The RN OR Circulator works under the general supervision of a physician, mid‑level provider, and/or nursing supervisor to provide nursing services in the care and treatment of patients.

Required
Education:
Graduate of an NLN approved nursing program.
Experience:
1 year operating room RN experience.
Licenses & Certifications:
NLC Nursing Licensure Compact‑BNE or Current Texas license; BLS course accredited by AHA or ARC.
Preferred
Scrub experience.
CNOR preferred.
Job Duties
Assesses and documents physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual health status of patient on admission using age‑specific concerns; performs ongoing assessment during intraoperative phase; communicates relevant data to team members.
Interprets health status data to anticipate patient, family, and physician needs; develops appropriate plan of care; utilizes critical thinking skills.
Identifies and implements appropriate intraoperative nursing interventions; completes accurate documentation; collaborates with the healthcare team.
Evaluates interventions, modifies care as needed; documents changes; prioritizes interventions per patient status and procedure plan.
Adheres to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice while delivering intraoperative care.
Provides patient education; documents education given; demonstrates effective communication with all age groups.
Supervises, directs, and coordinates patient care assignments; delegates duties within legal parameters.
Prepares for procedures by obtaining supplies and equipment timely.
Serves as technical subject matter resource; completes written clinical performance evaluations promptly.
Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment; performs safe, cost‑effective nursing care.
Solves minor issues of counts, errors, patient care, relationships, equipment, and environment prior to management intervention; supports team environment development.
Performs other duties as assigned.
