Immediate opening for a Class B CDL Driver in Houston, TX. Apply here with Ryder today. Compensation details include weekly pay with a base pay of $34.86 per hour, 30–50 hours per week, and additional per diem pay of $45.00 per night. Overnight accommodations are provided for routes booked by Ryder. There is paid training and a schedule of 5–7 days per week with start times in the AM and some PM events. This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle and complying with safety regulations, continuous training, and customer service. Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines. Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards. Maintaining accurate records; loading/unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading as required by the customer. Other tasks as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum 21 years of age. Minimum of 9 months of verifiable driving experience. Pass a Ryder drug test. Must have verifiable driving experience in the following equipment: 9 months in the past 3 years, OR 2 years in the last 5 years, OR 5 years in the last 10 years. Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years. Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to follow written and/or oral instructions. Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Note: Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts. Benefits
Uniforms and boot allowance provided. Paid Personal Time Off starts at Day 1 – 80 hours accrued in first year. Paid Personal Time policy encourages taking vacation; if not used, remaining balance is paid out at hourly rate.
