Maricopa County is also required to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for positions that directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety, but may not specifically require a valid CDL**We Also Value**Two or more years of transportation construction or roadway maintenance experience**Job Contributions*** Operate a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures* Haul materials and transport vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks* Perform manual labor assignments as needed* Inspect, clean, and perform routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment; identify and report mechanical problems requiring additional repair* Complete required daily logs and prepare reports; attend safety meetings* Complete daily written reports and enter information into the Cartegraph asset management system* Perform traffic control activities as needed; report safety hazards and traffic problems* Performs other duties as assigned**Working Conditions*** Exerting over 100 pounds occasionally, 50 - 100 pounds frequently, or up to 20 - 50 pounds constantly* Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration* Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel**Machines, tools, equipment, software, and hardware**Commercial motor vehicles, various construction equipment, including but not limited to water trucks, dump trucks, skid steers, sweepers, Broce broom, trailers, and hand tools**Protective equipment required**Hard hat, gloves, eye protection, and steel-toed boots**CDL Selection Procedure*** Only the most qualified candidates will be considered* Consideration will be extended exclusively to candidates who submit their applications through our online platform* Candidates will primarily be contacted via email, and their Workday online application profile* Successful candidates must undergo a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation, as required by statute or policy.
